How the Morpheus8 Treatment Works

Morpheus8 is a cutting-edge fractional skin treatment which stimulates collagen production of the underlying layers of the skin. This treatment targets the deeper layers of the skin, resulting in the reorganization of the building blocks of the skin.

This procedure is minimally invasive, safe, non-surgical, and is accomplished by using a matrix of micro pins to renew deeper layers of the skin with almost no patient downtime.

Before your procedure

2 WEEKS BEFORE treatment, avoid sun exposure (tans/burns/tanning beds/spray tans)
1 WEEK BEFORE treatment, discontinue all topical products containing Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Vitamin C, or any anti-aging products.
10-14 DAYS BEFORE treatment, do not ingest blood thinning medications such as Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve.
- If you have a cardiovascular history, please check with your doctor prior to stopping the use of blood thinners.
Also, avoid herbal supplements, such as Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and Omega-3 capsules.
3 DAYS BEFORE We recommend starting Arnica tablets to minimize bruising.
2 DAYS BEFORE treatment, do not drink alcoholic beverages.
AVOID bleaching, waxing, tweezing, or using depilatory creams in the treatment area.
Use sunscreen with UVA/UVB protection with SPF 30 or higher.
If you have a history of Herpes or cold sores, a course of anti-viral medication before and after treatment is required. Please call our office for a prescription.

Day of your procedure

Please come to the office without make-up, creams, gels, or lotions on treatment areas.
We will have you wash your face when you arrive at the practice.
A topical anesthetic will be applied to your skin, and you will numb for 45-60 minutes
Once the treatment is complete, we will apply a topical moisturizer.

What to Expect

Minimal pinkness/redness may last for up to 1 week.
Superficial bruising may occur, typically around the eyes.
Small needle marks may be present for a few days to a week post-procedure

After your procedure

Wait a few hours (preferably at bedtime) before gently washing your face. Using a gentle cleanser, massage your face to remove the remaining serum and dried blood.
Sleep in a slightly elevated position for the first 2-3 days to help prevent additional swelling
Do not use any skin products on treated areas for 24 hours.
2 DAYS AFTER Avoid consuming alcohol and/or smoking 2 days after your procedure.
4 DAYS AFTER Avoid taking NSAIDS (Aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.), Vitamin E, Fish oil, Gingko Biloba, Ginseng, and St. John’s Wart to reduce your risk of bruising and swelling.
1 WEEK AFTER You may start using your regular skin care regimen. Using a retinol product is strongly recommended as it will optimize your results.
10 DAYS AFTER Avoid direct sun exposure for 10 days post-treatment. NO TANNING BEDS.
Use sunscreen with UVA/UVB protection with SPF 30 or higher.

Skin Care and Symptom management:

Gentle Facial Cleanser (start the evening of treatment)
Moisten skin with lukewarm water. Lather cleanser into hands and massage into skin. Rinse thoroughly. Use in the morning and evening.

Post Procedure Pro Restore (start the evening of treatment)
Use on clean, dry skin. Gently massage onto the treated area. Pro Restore is specifically formulated to decrease downtime. improve skin recovery and amplify results following your cosmetic procedure. Use in the morning and evening for 7 days.

Moisturizer (start 24-hour post procedure)
Apply a small amount to face and gently massage into skin. Use after cleansing, pro restore. Use in the morning and evening.

Sunscreen SPF30 (start 24-hour post procedure)

Apply to face, neck, and chest every morning as the last step in your regimen 24 hours after. Also apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure, reapplying at least every 2 hours. Use in the morning.

AS NEEDED:
Hydrocortisone Cream 1% (over the counter)
Use twice a day as needed for skin itching 24 hour post procedure, for up to 7 days.

Zyrtec 10 mg (over the counter)

Take 1 tab oral daily as needed for swelling and itching for up to 7 days.

Benadryl 25mg (over the counter)

Take 1 tab oral at bedtime as needed for swelling and itching for up to 7 days.

Tylenol 325mg (over the counter)

Take 1 tab oral every 4-6 hours as needed for pain.
